The samples, they say, would rival moon rocks for sheer scientific import\u2014and be nearly as hard to get.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That has been a long-term ambition of earth scientists,&#8221; geologist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noc.soton.ac.uk\/geochem\/index.php?action=staff_entry&amp;SID=417\">Damon Teagle<\/a> told National Geographic News.<\/p>\n<p>But a lack of suitable technology and insufficient understanding of the crust have long tempered that ambition.
