A Colombian
Novice in the USA
Dear friends:
I want to
give you a quick update of my status of my life. I entered to the novitiate of
our Order, Benedictine Fathers. Novitiate may be a new word to some, and
without a latin dictionary, I believe it means: "a time for
testing". I just began the cannonical year as of august 11, I'm the
only one in this process, we doesn't have many vocations. Just a couple
days ago arrived a candidate from colombia. I hope he will stay here and enjoy
the community life here at the Mount.
I'm not
able to say too much about the program I'm following other than I'm leading a
life of community prayer, much personal prayer, liturgy, several daily classes
and conferences (in house, non-credit learning), exercise and recreation, house
duties and chores, and eating. This year of the formation process is
intend to be an ongoing time of spiritual and community development and
discernment.
This is for
now!. At this point, my acces to e-mail is limited, so forgive me if my
response is slow. If you are inspired at some point in terms of a phone
call, around 9:30 pm Central time is probably the best time to find me in my
room. If you want to writte me by regular mail that is fine, I would most
apreciated it.
I most
apreciate your prayers and I will be praying for you during what I believe will
be a very special and graced year.
In the
spirit of Our Holy Father St Benedict, with love and prayers:
Brother
